#2 Anita Horvat

Biography

When I was a little girl my big sister was already an athlete and she was a big role model for me. I was her big fan and was cheering for her at every competition she had in Slovenia. She inspired me and I wanted to be an athlete as well when I grow up.

After a few years my wish came true. My first steps in athletics started in Ljubljana when I was 13 years old. I first started to compete in long distances. I also tried with long jump, high jump and hurdles. After few years I tried 400m run and I liked it. I was driven and always wanted to run faster times. Year after year my results improved rapidly and in 2017 I competed in my first European championships. Later that year I competed also at my first World championship. Since then I am competing for national team at the highest level and I am still driven to run faster times.
